Joe Pierce is a filmmaker based in California. Since graduating with a BFA from Brooks Institute in 2013, he has worked as a Camera Operator and DP for the last 10 years in a variety of genres. These include feature films starring Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan, TV pilots, commercials, and documentaries, plus art installations and marketing pieces for clients including Apple, Google, and Facebook.

 

He has been fortunate enough to be a part of productions that have taken him to 15 countries and counting. This has given him valuable international experience dealing with carnets, permits, and hiring local crews.

When not on set, Joe likes to spend his time surfing, climbing, and mountaineering. These humbling experiences help him practice the level of focus that being on set demands.

 

Joe has a particular interest in giving a voice to people whose stories aren’t always seen.
